A New Sketch!

I know it has been a while, but I am back with a new sketch!

I love creating layout sketches so I made up this simple sketch a while ago and I hope it inspires you to create something awesome!

This is the layout that I designed based on this sketch.  I used one of my all-time favorite paper lines from Fancy Pants - Life is Good.

I kept my page fairly simple with some ink splatters on the background...

a banner with some stitching...

a title I cut with my Silhouette Cameo...

and some yummy washi tape!!

Thanks for looking and if you create something using this sketch, I would love to see your design!  Just leave a comment for me and I will be sure to stop by your blog :)

Happy creating ~

Smile * Silly * Giggle

I have another fun sketch and another layout to share with you!

I designed this sketch for a Sketch Challenge on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum and I created the layout using papers from My Minds Eye Indie Chic line.

I did a lot of fussy cutting with the papers, which is not something that I normally do. But once I got started I actually enjoyed hand cutting around all the interesting shapes!

I used another sweet photo of my girlfriend's lovable little boy and it worked so well with this collection. I also used some Mister Huey's Color Mists to give a bit of detail to the background, added some twine from MME Follow Your Heart and alphas from American Crafts.

If you use my sketch, please let me know. I would love to see what you have done with it!

Thanks for looking and happy creating ~

Little Man

I love sketches! Seriously! They are such a great starting point for scrapbooking and card making. I recently created a sketch for a challenge at the Two Scrapbook Friends Spring Retreat and I finally put the finishing touches on the layout that I designed based on my sketch.

First of all, this is the sketch:

And here is my layout:

My girlfriend has the most adorable little boy and she offered to give me I begged her for some photos that I could scrapbook! He recently turned two, so she had lots of current photos for me to work with.

I paired the photos with paper and stickers from Echo Park's Note to Self line. I LOVE this line and I had great fun working with it!

I cut tickets from one of the papers to use in place of the banner pieces on the sketch. Then I added some machine stitching to secure them to the page.

I am sure I will have a few more pages using photos of this little cutie!

Thanks for looking~

For You!

I am posting a new card sketch for you this week! I love making cards and I thought I would design a sketch to use.

I am part of the Design Team at Little Red Wagon and our challenge this week was to use a Spring palette on our creation - soft Spring colours, like pinks, greens, etc.

When I saw this sweet little stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs, Riley, I thought she would be perfect on a Spring card!

I used my Copic markers to color her and I did some paper piecing on her little outfit. The Echo Park line, Hello Spring, gave me the perfect papers in pastel colors.

It all came together perfectly with my sketch and I now have a sweet little card to give to someone special!

Feel free to use my sketch to jump start your creativity. If you do, I would love to see what you have created!

I hope you have a wonderful Spring day :)

A New Sketch!

Wednesdays on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum is our Sketch Challenge Day! Our Design Team takes turns posting their own sketches to inspire your creativity. We had an open Wednesday this week so I decided to fill in with one of my own sketches. It has been a while since I created a sketch and I have to say it was a lot of fun.

Sketches are one of the best tools that scrapbookers can use. They are the perfect starting point for your layouts or cards. I hope my sketch will inspire you to create something awesome!

This is the layout that I created based on my sketch.

I used BoBunny's Vintage Dots for the background and some pattern papers and stickers from Simple Stories. I also worked with Kraft-Core cardstock and did lots of sanding and distressing!

Why not join in the challenge on the TSF Forum? I can't wait to see what you create!

Sketch #8

Here is a card sketch for you!

And here is a little something for inspiration.

I used paper from BoBunny and PTI and a fun digi image that I colored with my Copic markers.  I added some of my favorite ribbon, a bit of stitching and Glossy Accents on the bottle cap. And there you have it!

Happy creating~

Sketch #7

I have a brand new sketch for you!

And I created this fun layout based on my sketch.

I used paper from the October Afternoon Fly A Kite line (love it!). I didn't have any trees that I could use on my page so I hand drew a pattern for the trees and then traced them onto my paper and cut them out. With a bit of stitching and a couple of buttons, I love how they turned out.

The clouds are chipboard covered with paper. The title element was made using a couple of OA's journal cards and mini alpha stickers, and chipboard alphas from MLS.

The grass was made using my very favorite Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors and a strip of the dot paper. After I cut the fringe, I randomly folded the paper and machine stitched it in place.

I hope my sketch and layout inspire you to create a layout this week!

Happy creating~
